This presentation is focused at the Interior Designer  to provide a closer look into using LED sourced lighting in interior and exterior spaces.  Following the presentation, a special pre-show tour of the EXPO show floor will be hosted by local Docents from 12:00 - 1:00 pm providing opportunities for session attendees to ask questions and secure answers from manufacturers and Docent hosts.

At the conclusion of the presentation, the attendee will:

1)      Learn several practical ways in which lighting can enhance interior and exterior spaces

2)      Understand six attributes of any lighting system and how to compare alternatives

3)      Observe examples of excellent lighting projects

4)      Realize the advantages that newer LED lighting systems frequently offer the designer

5)      Learn the warning signs of a lighting retrofit that is not necessarily an upgrade

• Differentiate and explain the difference between the COST of LED vs the PRICE of LED
• Calculate key financial metrics for evaluation of an LED project; for non-accountants

• Recommend additional streams of financial benefit to improve return of LED projects
• Identify and explain key non-financial factors in a manner that conveys their importance to a financial decision makers and influencers.

Abstract:

How do I make sure my LED lighting can be controlled like I want?  Why won't they dim? Why are they flickering? Controlling LEDs can be complicated, with more things to know and be concerned about than dimming other light sources. Our panel of experts will help you understand the issues and learn how to get your LED lighting under control.

CASE STUDY: PATIENT ROOM 2020

Striving to improve the patient experience and optimize caregiver performance, Christian Rae Studio collaborated with NXT Health and more than 35 service and product providers to design Patient Room 2020, a next-generation inpatient care environment.  The designers and suppliers involved with the project donated services and products to create an environment that will solve some of the greatest challenges facing healthcare design and delivery now and into the future. 

Lighting in a patient room reaches far beyond visibility concoerns.  It can help to create a safe, streamlined, restorative and engaging environment for patients and families.
